Ultraviolet radiation has its benefits and dangers
These invisible rays called ultraviolet radiation can benefit us by supplying vitamin D and helping our bodies to heal.
On the other hand, they can cause us to have skin cancer.
UV radiation is made up of 3 types of radiation. They are A, B and C. UVA rays and UVB rays are the ones we need to be concerned about.
The third, UVC, is actually the most dangerous to life on earth; however, it cannot penetrate the earth’s ozone layer. For that reason, it does not pose a threat to human, plant or animal life.
UVA and UVB do penetrate the ozone layer and do reach the surface of the earth, which is why we need to be concerned; not afraid, just concerned.
The ultra violet light in A is weaker than the ultraviolet B.
The overexposure of ultraviolet B has long been believed to be the culprit in causing skin cancer in persons who repeatedly overexpose themselves to this ultraviolet radiation
It’s the sunburns and the continual tanning. More recent research shows UVA as also a possible cause of skin cancer.
You are more likely to be sunburned from the ultraviolet light in UVB than UVA. However, the UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin.
Scientists have long associated the ultraviolet light in UVB as causing melanoma and other types of skin cancer.
They also now believe that UVA rays can further the skin damage leading to skin cancer.
For this reason, I firmly believe that you should use a good
Quality Natural Sunscreen
that blocks both kinds of ultraviolet radiation.
I personally believe you shouldn’t go around worrying about it if you’re only going to be in the sun for short periods of time. The sunshine and good fresh air are beneficial to your health.
Just use good judgment and moderation. If you're going to the beach, be like the lady and her child above.
Reap the good benefits.
Just remember, the sun doesn’t come with a label on it.
Lots of products we buy are poisonous and they will or should state that on their label.
You know, "poisonous", “harmful”, “irritant” or not labeled at all, but still yet, they contain things that can bring you harm.
So if `the sun` or the `tanning bed` doesn’t have a label on it, we have to use good judgment.
That usually comes from education and experience. Reading, personal experiences and observations can teach us a lot if we’re paying attention.
When a person continues the overexposure to ultraviolet radiation, you’re aging your skin faster, you’ll start having wrinkles sooner and you may get a form of skin cancer.
There’s no label telling you this, but its happening.
Take care of your skin from within and without.
