Get In There and Fight !!!!

by Marsha
(Lone Jack, Mo)

I have had breast cancer and skin cancer.

The first thing I think is important. The only way you can tell if you have cancer is with a biopsy. I mean an actual sample from the tissue or tumor.

Read about your cancer your medications and beware if you are being used as a guinea pig for a test..I know that's how they find out about stuff but make sure you want to do it.

Read, read, read...find out from other people their experiences, go to a support group.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Be informed...Don't be timid and slow about your treatments, get in there and fight for your rights as a patient.

Go to a specialist for cancer. They have the training..I wouldn't trust anybody that hasn't been trained with my body that doesn't know what they are doing....They know what treatments are the way things are being done.

Then still read to make sure it's right...

"MELANOMA : “NO BIG DEAL ” IT'S JUST SKIN CANCER!

Hi! My name is Nick and I’m 56 yrs. old and this is part of my story. Let me tell you, I was like a lot of people out there and I had no idea that skin cancer was anything bad. I had Basal cell back in 2007, but that was no big deal and it was removed and that was the end of that. No one told me that it was a type of skin cancer (I looked it up on my computer). But still no big deal, it would not kill me.
But I did know the word "Melanoma"....." --by Nick

Bottom Line
The Weather Channel has done well posting this information and photos to help you spot skin cancer, including melanoma.
It can be hard to spot, even for a professional.
The bottom line is to get an expert's opinion about any suspicious mole or lesion on your skin. If necessary, get a second opinion  and/or request a biopsy. it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Don’t put your very life at risk!
